I loveeeee seasonal books. Honestly I love picture books in general, but especially the seasonal and holiday ones. Read on for a list of our favorite kids halloween books from the past 12 years!
My kids have always gotten so excited when we pull the holiday books & decorations down from the attic. Even at ages 7-11 they immediately start to flip through and read their favorite holiday classics.
It makes my mama heart so happy to watch them read the books we’ve read on repeat over the years. I remember (and still have some of) the books I was most excited to see each holiday season growing up, and love to see that tradition continuing with my own babes.

My Top 5 Favorite Kids Halloween Books:
Stumpkin – The absolute cutest story about a stemless pumpkin who dreams of being chosen to become a jack-o-lantern. A great example of self-acceptance, finding your place, and caring for others.
The Little Ghost Who Was A Quilt – Another adorable story about embracing what makes you unique, self-acceptance, and how you shine in your own way.
The Little Kitten – A story of kindness, empathy, friendship & caring for others. Full of the most beautiful artwork, too!
Click, Clack, Boo! – A classic that my kids have loved since they were babies. One of the first ones they learned to read on their own and still love to read to each other – with the exact same tone that I always read it.
Little Blue Truck’s Halloween – Another childhood classic. We love all things Little Blue Truck, but this lift the flap costume version may be my favorite (minus the light up Christmas tree that’s up next!).
